About
THALAMO is a student-led neurotechnology project developing intelligent prosthetic systems at the intersection of biomedical engineering, robotics and machine learning.
We are building it because we believe the interface can be better.
Prosthetic limbs have become extraordinary pieces of mechanical engineering. The part that has moved slowest is the connection between the person and the device — how intent gets in, and how information gets back out.
That gap is where we work. Not the hand itself, but the interface that decides what the hand should do, and how naturally the person can ask for it.
